A city break built around Niçois food, painting, old streets and the seafront, without needing a Monaco day trip to justify the stay.
Nice works as a city break even when you leave the beach alone. Walk the old town and Cours Saleya, make time for Matisse or Chagall, then return to the sea when you want fewer decisions. Palais Lascaris adds an interior close to the old streets.
Three or four days let art, food and outdoor time sit comfortably together. Two need a shorter museum list. A fifth can be unhurried, but does not require borrowing a day from Monaco. MAMAC’s main building remains closed.
